Complete your holiday shopping while making a difference

Did you know that nearly one-fifth (21%) of holiday shopping happens between mid-October and Cyber Monday? As everyone hunts for the best value, many people turn to online stores. If that’s the case for you, consider using Amazon Smile.

If you select TNC Community as your designated charity, AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to TNC Community.

The best part – it doesn’t cost any more to use AmazonSmile. And you’ll still be able to experience the breadth and ease of Amazon’s selection, all while it makes a donation back to TNC Community.

So, do a little good and do a little shopping. Visit AmazonSmile for more information or to sign up.

Here at TNC Community, we’ve been preparing for the impending winter and cold air that will soon be setting in by taking the last few trips from fall. A small group of individuals went to St. Louis and had an opportunity to experience some things they’ve been waiting a lifetime to fulfill. They traveled there, stayed the night and returned the next day.

Early in September, we were all set up and ready for TNC Day. We had a western theme with an awesome TShirt design. (We had several homes submit ideas and we put all the ideas in to one.) Unfortunately, that early morning temperature was simply too chilly for individuals and we had to make the difficult decision to reschedule. Everyone was disappointed – employees, individuals and family members.

TNC Reveals New Logo

IMG_0241_x100h.jpgWe’re so excited to announce that TNC Community is getting ready for a new “look.” Starting July 1, 2014, TNC Community is revealing a new logo.

As part of its celebrations of its 65th year, TNC worked closely with the design experts IPM Group of Overland Park, so they could capture the heart of what TNC does – its support and care for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Throughout its 65-year-history, TNC has had numerous logos. With all of its recent growth and expanding services to more than 13 locations (and growing), TNC felt it was time to update its logo.

“We feel this logo is a great representation of what we do and who we are,” says James Landrum, Executive Director.

TNC continues to grow and expand. We’re very excited. Stay tuned for more updates!
