United Way of America Community on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities

About TNC Community...

Founded in 1949 as the Cerebral Palsy Foundation and later becoming Harry S. Truman Children's Neurological Center, we operate under the name TNC Community and have locations throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.

TNC Community provides services to individuals with developmental disabilities from its 6 group homes and 3 Individual Supported Living (ISL) locations.  Our administrative offices are located at 12404 E. US Highway 40, Independence, Missouri. Check out our brochure.

TNC Community is administered by an executive director under the guidance of a volunteer board of directors. We have been accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and are active members in Missouri Association of Rehabilitation Facilities (MARF). TNC Community is registered with GuideStar, a service of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation which allows donors to view company profiles.

TNC Community receives partial funding from Developmental Disability Services of Jackson County-Eitas, Developmental Disabilities Resource Board of Clay County, United Way of Greater Kansas City, and the Missouri Department of Mental Health. We also rely on contributions from the community.

If you would like to make a tax deductible donation you can donate on-line to us through the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation or through TNC's website. We acknowledge all donations with a letter and receipt. If you do not receive one, please let us know.
